LATEST NEWS:  I completed the London Marathon with Lisa in 4:38:11 - a personal best time for me. It was a great day, with fantastic support from millions of people all the way along the route, bands playing, people singing, cheering us on.... but I still won't be doing it again!

 

I've run the marathon twice before :- In 2001, I trained with my great friend and running mentor Chris (pictured in the photos) and without him, I would never have made it.  He coaxed me round the lanes of Kent week after week, ever greater distances, in preparation for the marathon which I completed in 4hrs 39 mins. Then in 2008 I ran it again with my other great friend Lisa.  We've carried on running together ever since.  Our husbands have been a real support all the way and we are doing the marathon together again this year, both for MSRC.

  I ran the Silverstone Half Marathon on March 14th in 1:57:36 - not quite a personal best, but only just over a minute slower!  Considering how windy it was, I was very pleased with the time - helped enormously by the 9-min-mile pacemaker from  'Runners World'.
