08.12.2020

Hi - I'm Anita's husband, Steve.  Sadly, Anita passed away peacefully at East Lancashire Hospice on 5th November, 2020.  The team, who she was so passionate about raising money to support, did her proud at the end of her life.   We will always be grateful to them.

I've committed to continue Anita's hard work in fund-raising for East Lancashire Hospice in her memory.   To this end, Anita's JustGiving page will be kept open and used by me, our family and all of our friends to continue Anita's great work.

Anita's initial target was to raise £5,000 in 2018.  She smashed this target and as we head towards the end of 2020 her total stands at just over £9,000.

Living with terminal ovarian cancer for over 8 years, Anita showed many people what a determined person she was. Always in control, always willing to talk about her illness and always planning the next adventure, she was an inspiration to anyone she met.

East Lancashire Hospice provided help, advice and support to Anita for several years before ultimately providing exceptional levels of care and comfort - not just to Anita at the end of her life,  but to her family too.

The remainder of this page will be left just as Anita left it and, as always, our thanks to you for reading this and supporting East Lancashire Hospice.  Steve xx

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

The East Lancashire Hospice is a charity close to my heart.  They are an essential service in our local area and help people who have life limiting illnesses. I have been using their services now for about 4 years and will continue to do so during my illness with Ovarian Cancer.

I am trying to reach out to as many people as I can and just ask for the smallest donation possible which is £2.  Make your donation and then spread the word.  Ask close family and friends to do the same and so on.

This was going to be my challenge for 2019 but my recent decline in health has prompted me to start now.  I have no fixed finish date for this target but wouldn't it be nice to achieve this by the end of 2018!

Earlier this year I agreed to have my story published by the hospice, please feel free to have a read using the following link:

www.eastlancshospice.org.uk/anitas-story

Please folks, just £2 today, spread the word, share the link and make a difference to this great cause.  Thank You!
