What started as a distant dream is now around the corner.  The Eddie Izzard inspired crazy idea of running 3 marathons in 3 weeks has now been crushed with illnesses and injuries (not mine) but I will run the London Marathon on 25 April 2010 even if I have to crawl over the finishing line ...more likely than not.

Having run through the bitter cold winter, on snow and ice, through a number of infections, sore knees and regions I care not to mention, in order to train for this one event, I am not going to give up now until I have kissed the ground at the finishing line and got that bit of metal around my neck that marks an accomplishment most never achieve ...okay only about 35,000 every year (but that's just semantics)!!

All you have to do is sit back in that nice comfy chair of yours, reach into your pocket for your wallets, take out the credit card and donate.  It's a worthy cause and you can feel good about yourself for it  ...a lot better than I will be feeling at that finishing line.

Those of you who know me well …I take no prisoners, donate or else!!!  No pressure dears ..just empty those G’dam pockets; and I have no sympathy for those of you who say bankers’ bonuses aren’t what they use to be.

My charity of choice is Get Kids Going!

GET KIDS GOING! is a National charity that provides manual wheelchairs and trikes for disabled children for use every day; at home, school and to enable them to play with their friends.  They strongly believe that all disabled children should receive the right equipment to get them going.  It provides disabled children and young people the wonderful opportunity to participate in sport by providing specialist wheelchairs, training and physiotherapy.  With your help many could become record holders and Paralympic champions. 

 

Get Kids Going! believes that disabled children should have the best care and assistance they desperately need. They support children with all disabilities and make sure that any equipment which is out grown is recycled to other children, so supporters’ valuable donations are never wasted.
