Hi, I'm not sure how many of you are aware that April is cancer month.  Therefore I've signed up to run the 5K Race for Life on 23rd May on Weston's beach (back willing!!), in memory of every cancer patient, family and friends who have lost their battle with cancer, and the ones who continue to conquer it! 

Cancer has touched many of our lifes in one way or another.  In fact, more than 1 in 3 people will develop cancer at some point in their lifetime.  I therefore would like to raise £500 for this very worthwhile cause.

 

Here is what your donation could help towards:

Raising £94 could cover the cost of one woman taking part in a clinical trial to test a new way of giving hormone therapy, to improve breast cancer treatment.

Raising £260 could buy a sophisticated microarray: a powerful piece of technology that scientists use to study genes and identify which are switched on in cancer.

Raising £2,979 could help cover the cost of patient taking part in a clinical trial to improve treatment of a type of head and neck cancer.  We're testing if a new way of delivering radiotherapy can help reduce hearing loss, which is a common side effect of treating this cancer.
