Story

Hi, I’m Anna!  As a mother of three and a high-school teacher, I don’t find it easy to create spare time. What time I can make, however, is currently focussed on training to run the London Marathon on Sunday 25th April. Although I have several half-marathons, including the Great North Run, under my belt and have run in support of a number of charities, among them Cancer Research UK and Children with Leukaemia, this will be my first full marathon and I am running to raise funds for CAFOD.

Why CAFOD?   My school has been involved with CAFOD on a number of occasions so I have come to know and admire the work they do for the developing world. CAFOD, in modern parlance, really does make a difference! Recognised as one of the major development agencies, CAFOD is prompt to respond when natural disasters strike the poorest countries. In calmer times when the need for urgent aid has passed, CAFOD is still there quietly getting on with sustainable projects aimed at education, health and housing and schemes to ensure the provision of clean water. In the current recession with trade faltering, the impact on the poorest has been devastating; they need our help more than ever. Please help me to help CAFOD make a difference.

Why JustGiving?  Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe: they will never sell them or send unwanted e-mails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to CAFOD and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate: less trouble for you and saves me loads of time to devote to training!
