Around Wales in 8 Days Challenge
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
We have decided to set ourselves a challenge, to cycle from Wrexham to and back up the West coast of in 8 days. Our Around Wales in 8 Days Challenge will mean we will cycle a gruelling total of 471 miles. We are undertaking this challenge in order to raise as much money as possible for , the children’s medical research charity.
In the UK around 700,00 babies are born every year. Sadly 1 in 30 of these babies will be born with a health condition or disability that could affect them for life. That's around 70 families a day that are told their baby has been born with an illness, disability or that their baby's life is at risk. Many families have to deal with their child developing an illness in the early years of life. For example, every day 10 families are told that their child has cancer. Sparks are trying to change these statistics but they need our support.
Sparks is a unique children's charity funding medical research into the prevention, treatment and cure of ALL conditions and illnesses affecting children, babies and expectant mothers. All of Sparks' pioneering, groundbreaking work has a single aim, to give every child the chance to be born healthy and stay healthy. Their medical breakthroughs mean that more children who only a few years ago may not have survivied, can now thrive and grow up to enjoy school, playing with their friends and sharing the simple joys most of us take for granted.
Our aching legs and sore muscles will be nothing compared with the daily challenges faced by the many children and their families who are fighting childhood illnesses. There are many children in our community who are not able to ride a bike, kick a ball or play sport with their friends. We want to help these children and make a difference. By supporting we can help give every child the start in life they deserve – a healthy one.Our Itinerary
