UPDATE 13 April 2011
Hi everyone,
Firstly a huge, huge thank you to all of those who have donated both on and offline so far! I really appreciate all of the support you have given and all the proceeds are going to a worthwhile cause.
So... Sunday is the big day. After several months of training and painfully long runs in all weather conditions, the race is only a few days away.
I feel ready and believe, hope, that I am in good physical shape and look forward to completing the race. As this is the first time I have entered this event, I cannot wait to feel the buzz of the crowd.
My running number is 41,365 so keep an eye out for me!
Wish me luck and hopefully I can share a future sucess story with you all.

Hey everyone, my name is Asa ...
I am training for the 2011 Virgin London Marathon and will be running on behalf of LAM Action.
Lymphangioleionyomatosis (LAM) is a rare respiratory disease effecting women in their child baring years. It progressively destroys lung tissue and erodes lung function. Currently there is no cure or effective treatment. For many patients lung transplant is the only means of survival.
All monies raised will help to fund research and develop new treatments that could save the lives of women suffering from this rare disease. The charity also offers much needed help to families of the patients.
As for the marathon itself... it has always been an ambition of mine to run the 26.2 miles through London and I can’t wait for the challenge!
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate.
I really appreciate any support and donations you are able to give!
