The Screwball Rally is where you buy a car for under £750, drive it through 5 countries in 5 days. This started out as just a boys trip but we then decided that we needed another reason to do it.  As its a boys trip we decided to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK.

Bought the car which is a cool Mercedes boys toy for a good price, from Colin's auction no less. We started to get the car road worthy only to find that a little mousey friend had decided to make a nest under the bonnet and had consequently chewed through a variety of wires and all sorts of other things so it was a major task to get everything removed and replaced. Have put a few piccies on when i was putting it back together. Have spent many a happy hour polishing our lovely sleek new lady and she now looks stunning! Hopefully she will look after us on our journey!

My goodness, we are now on facebook!!  Will add the link when i find out how to do it!! ~ see link below ~ you may have to copy and paste it as i don't think its worked...me and technology do not go together!

Wednesday 24 Sept 2014 ~ Its the day of the grande depart yorkshire from our homes to make the journey down south to meet up with the other screwballers to have a bit of banter and chill out ready for leaving Calais at 6am tomorrow morning. Our girl is all packed up with our kit to get us through the next 5 days.

Thursday 25 September ~ Still on the ferry approaching the Belgium coast coming into Dunkirk. A horrendous nights sleep in our tent, Colin is a terrible snorer!!  Up at 3am this morning to go for the ferry, everything packed up wet with the morning due and on the road for 4am.

2.30pm ~ Have done Belgium, Luxembourg, into France and are heading for Basel in Switzerland taking a detour over a fantastic mountain range.

Friday 26th September ~ 7.30am, just leaving Basel after another rubbish nights sleep, heading through the lakes and alps of Switzerland into Austria towards Linz for tonights meeting up. Arrived safely after a 10 hour driving day!!  Ready for a beer!! Missing my girls at home now and wish they were here to share this with me.

Saturday 27th September ~ 8.20am, leaving Linz behind now heading up towards the Czech Republic towards Prague for tonights meeting up. We have pre-booked a caravan tonight so no sleeping in a wet tent tonight thank goodness. 11.15am, just crossed the czech border, what a contrast from Austria, this is a very poor country.

3pm - Arrived in Prague in good time. Decided to hire a cabin for the night but after looking inside maybe the tent s the best option!!

Sunday 18th September ~ 8.15am, leaving Prague now to go back into Germany heading for Hanover for tonights meeting. Prague is a lovely city, very cosmopolitan for The Three Yorkshire Puddings!!

2.30pm ~ Arrived at Honnover at a lovely campsite, we are all caping around a lake and its red hot, wonder who will be the first in?

Monday 19th September ~ 8.50am, just leaving Hannover now through Germany, across Holland and into Belgium.

Arrived in very good time at Dunkirk and managed to catch an earlier ferry, this will get us back into England in good time to make the 300 or so miles back to Yorkshire and home...

10pm.  Arrived home after doing over 2500 miles across Europe, had a fantastic time and seen some wonderful sights, well worth the hard slog. Met some amazing people along the way..

Don't forget to keep looking at our facebook page to see how we are getting on.
