Well, we made it (I know some people were sceptical!). After over 1,000 kms, 12,000m of climbing, 40 bananas and six pairs of shorts we arrived in Cannes to be met by Boris Johnson.

Cycle To Cannes is an annual 6-day 1500km cycling relay endurance event which has to date given in excess of £730,000 to charity. Held in the last throws of winter, the weather can be bitter as we pass through northern France and the vineyards around Reims. It's not uncommon for water bottles to freeze, snow to fall, or for thick fog to surround the peloton for a couple of days.

We are raising money for five core charities: The Duke of Edinburgh's Award, The Sarah Matheson Trust, Article 25, Tom's Trust and Land Aid. Further info can be found here: www.cycle2cannes.org/charities.php

Not only are we faced with the difficulty of braving these bitterly cold mornings to train at the moment, but we are also faced with the challenge of raising money for these charities in this difficult economic climate so please give generously.
