Thanks for visiting our fundraising page.
We are aiming to raise at least £20,000 for Help for Heroes by taking part in the annual Welsh Castles Road Relay Challenge on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 June 2010.
Help for Heroes
Help for Heroes was founded in October 2007 out of a desire to help the wounded servicemen and women returning from Afghanistan and Iraq. It is a non-political and non-critical charity which exists simply to help injured service personnel returning from war. Anyone who volunteers to serve in time of war, knowing that they may risk all, is a hero. These servicemen and women are ordinary people doing extraordinary things and some of them live with the consequences of their service for life. Long-term injuries need long-term solutions and, going forward, Help for Heroes aims to supplement the available facilities and care so that those in rehabilitation get the very best facilities and treatment in order to recover from their injuries and rebuild their careers and their lives.
We are sure you will agree that it is an extraordinarily worthwhile charity to support.
Training to date "Room for improvement" is probably the most accurate assessment. There has been the odd lunch time run up and down the Avon Gorge in a vague attempt to prepare ourselves for the reality of Snowdonia and Brecon, and weekly hill training sessions have been contemplated from the comfort of our offices. Let's just hope the team are all undertaking their training in secret...Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - we raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
