Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Some children through no fault of theirs or others suffer life threatening challenges.

Evie is my “fabulous” niece – in fact she and her sister Emma are my great nieces but I tend to think of them as fabulous.  When Evie was born she inhaled faeces during the birth process and the prognosis for her recovery was dismal.  She was airlifted to a hospital that had an ECMO machine  -  which is in effect an artificial lung . Through the care of this NHS hospital and the care that her family received in a supportive house nearby - Evie (and her family) survived.  I am running for families like Evie’s – supporting Crawford House in Newcastle which is part of the Sick Children’s Trust.  For more information on the Sick Children's Trust please see http://www.sickchildrenstrust.org/

About the charity

The Sick Children’s Trust is the charity that gives families with a seriously ill child in hospital a comfortable place to stay and a friendly ear to listen in one of our ten ‘Homes from Home’. By providing families with somewhere to stay near their child they have one less thing to worry about.
