.OUR CHALLENGE-Not content with the pressures of being part of a major Investment Bank build out, a few of us at Barclays Capital Equities thought it would be a good idea to endeavour to cycle 180km of French mountain roads and truly see what a tough day is all about.

This year we'll be attempting to scale Tourmalet , the final mountian stage of this year's Tour De France, with 9500 other amateur cyclists to shepherd us on our way.   (www.letapedutour.com)  .                                                                   

This is the Blue Riband event in amateur cycling and given last year's event saw 25% of entrants fail to finish an arduous course in the alloted 10 hours combined with 41 degree heat we felt it only right to undertake the ride with a truly worthwhile cause in mind.

Great Ormond Street Hospital should need no introduction to the majority of you but is a truly amazing cause and those of us riding in July thank you for your generosity in supporting us and our charity.
