Myself and 9 colleagues will be participating in the annual Sense International Corporate Dragon Boat Challenge in aid of Sense International.

The challenges faced by deafblind children and their families in the developingworld are far greater than they are here. Children are frequently neglected,abandoned and even locked away by families who struggle to cope. Without support, four out of five deafblind children may die before their fifth birthday.Sense International helps build the bridge between these deafblind childrenand the rest of the world, reconnecting them to their families and theircommunities. We work with local partners and organisations and offer experience and expertise gained from working in countries including the UK,to support the creation of long term sustainable programmes run by local people for local people.There are an estimated 2.5 million deafblind children in the world and 650,000 live in the countries in which we work. We currently run programmes in India,Bangladesh, East Africa, Peru and Romania.The money you raise by taking part in this challenge will help us to make a huge difference to the lives of some of the most isolated children in the world. By raising funds you will enable us to provide expert support and education giving deafblind children the opportunity to understand their world, communicate, interact and thrive.
