Story
Hello,
For those of you who know me, you would know that this is my second marathon and I am sure you may ask why again when you have seen this picture of how I ended up!
For some reason all that pain just wasn't enough for me and I have decided to do it all again on home turf, try to break the 4 hour barrier and this time for a very important charity in the rainforest Foundation, building a sustainable future for all of us and future generations.
Every year an area of rainforest the size of England and Wales is cut down leaving local people homeless, drives animals and plants to extinction and releases more CO2 emissions, which cause climate change, than all of the world’s planes, trains and cars
By raising just £1800 we can permanently protect an area of the rainforest the size of regent's Park and help the indigenous population gain legal rights to their land so they can achieve sustainable protection of their lands and resources
The Rainforest foundation is committed to both human rights and environmental protection, locally it helps forest communities to gain land rights, challenge logging companies and manage forests for their own well-being and protection of their environment
Globally it campaigns to influence national and international laws to protect rainforests and their inhabitants.
