Story
Update: Bart was allowed out of hospital for a few hours to walk the last two miles of the Test Way with his Nan, Dad and little brother George. A fantastic achievement.
Everyone else on the team also completed the walk on a glorious day.
Thanks to everyone for supporting us.
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Our teenage nephew Bart, who is so dear to us, has in the last month been diagnosed with Leukemia. This has come as such a shock to all the family and his many friends. He is a really special lad, always kind and with a great sense of humour.
He has just finished his first 11 day chemotherapy treatment at the Piam Brown Ward in Southampton General Hospital. The staff are wonderful; they always have a smile and ensure Bart has the best possible care. He is very tired most of the time, but having his own X-Box and laptop at his bed, provided by the Joe Glover Trust has made such a difference. This is a children's cancer charity, based in Hampshire, but serving a large geographical area across the South of England. They provide direct help to children with cancer and their families.
His family and friends are walking as a team on Sunday 10th October to continue to raise funds for this wonderful charity. The walk will be along the Test Way, some people will be completing 26 miles, others will start at 16, 11, 8, 5 and 2 miles but we will all join together to the finish at the Romsey Memorial Park.
The pictures on the left are Bart on holiday in Cornwall in July, just before his diagnosis.
Many thanks for taking the time to read this and sponsoring our walk.
