Story

Just one of the many objectives of the holy month of Ramadan is to give charity to those in need. Come the last weekend of September I will be pounding the pavements in my first 10K run in Cirencester and in celebration of this I would like to raise some much needed funds for a charity that is very close to my heart: The Damask Rose Trust (http://www.damaskrosetrust.org/Home/tabid/38/Default.aspx).

This charity supports locally initiated, sustainable development projects for the benefit of the most disadvantaged communities in Syria, my home country.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Every little helps!

About the charity

The Trust supports small-scale, locally initiated, sustainable development projects for the benefit of the most disadvantaged communities in Syria. In particular it targets projects that build local capacities in the fields of welfare, education and training, which meet the needs especially of young people, women, the elderly and persons with disabilities and other vulnerable groups and whose achievements can be replicated or expanded. We hope that such projects will foster greater understanding and cooperation between people in Britain and Syria.
