Story

Beatrix wanted to challenge herself to read her height in books (stacked up) over the school summer holidays in 2020. This is no simple task for a 6 year old! She thought that putting the challenge to good use by raising money was a good idea and after much deliberation her chosen charity is the RDA for 3 reasons:

1) Beatrix loves horse riding

2) She wants to help other children

3) Her great-great-aunt Helen was heavily involved in supporting the RDA at the very beginning.

RDA’s work is delivered by 18,000 volunteers through 500 local groups across the UK. No other UK charity delivers the work we do; our activities (from riding and carriage driving, volunteer training, holidays and educational activities) all have the same goal - focusing on what each beneficiary ‘can do’ to achieve physical and mental wellbeing; with the end goal of enriching lives and changing futures. We need your support to continue the vital work we do and benefit the RDA community. Please do give and donate what you feel you can.

About the charity

RDA are dedicated to improving the lives of 20,000 children & adults with disabilities by spending time with horses, at over 400 groups all over the UK. Our beneficiaries experience significant improvements in physical & mental wellbeing, communication skills, relationship building & confidence.
