Fundraising for Child Bereavement UK
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
When I was asked if I would like to run in the Virgin London Marathon 2010 to support the Child Bereavement Charity, the only answer in my head was YES. Friend and colleague, Fiona Mack, sadly lost her baby daughter Allegra Jane in 2007. I am extremely proud and honoured to be running in her memory.
The Child Bereavement Charity provide an invaluable service to those who have lost a baby before, during or shortly after birth, by offering 1:1 support and group sessions facilitated by expert trained bereavement counsellors. As Fiona discovered, the group sessions helped people feel they were not alone and could share their experience with others who really did understand. Allegra is buried in Snowdrop Garden, which really is very beautiful and peaceful. The CBC were responsible for ensuring a part of High Wycombe Cemetery is sectioned off just for babies and small children, and even though it must be filled with so much sadness, there is still a lightness to it and it is a very special place to visit.
