We fund and support projects to empower disadvantaged people of Nepal

Story

New Futures Nepal,  grew 13 years ago, when some friends who went trekking in Nepal saw the plight of a group of disabled and orphaned children and young people who had been abandoned or left to fend for themselves.  When they returned back to the UK, this group embarked on a fundraising effort to change the lives of the children and people they had met, and so the charity was formed.

Now the Hope Centre in Kathmandu provides safety, security and a loving environment for over 25 children and young people. The charity also ensures they each receive the healthcare and education they need.
State provision in Nepal remains virtually non-existent, and orphaned and disabled children can face discrimination, a lack of care and a precarious future.

I became involved in the charity through friends of mine who also trekked in Nepal, and this is how the support grows. Although I have never been to Nepal, I have learnt of the beauty and poverty of this country.  I am inspired by this personal charity and their hands on approach.  We work alongside local people, and build on the strengths of individuals and community support.

New Futures Nepal is the sole funder for the children at the Hope Centre and through individual sponsorships and fundraising we can give each child a future that they would not have otherwise.  We have made a long term commitment to these children.  It costs c £140 per month for each child at the Hope Centre - including food, shelter, staff, education, transport. Every £ you give will go directly to the care of the children. Please support me to support them.

This ultra challenge walk will be a test of my own determination and resilience. I will be thinking of the bravery and yet humble, peaceful spirit of the Nepali people,  especially those who care for the children at the Hope Centre, in the face of so many challenges. Please encourage me and give what you can to help a child have a future.

Thank you Becky
