Story
Last August, our second child Eve was born.
She was born with Down Syndrome and multiple cardiac anomalies, requiring open heart surgery. Both of these were postnatal diagnoses. Eve and our family have received so much from both the Heart Link charity and the Footprints Conductive Education Centre during this time.
Both these charities have had a huge impact on Eve's life. Heart Link allowed us to stay with Eve whilst she had her surgery and in the week of care that followed. Without this help we would have to have travelled to and from Leicester every day to see her. They also fund much of the equipment that the fantastic staff use every day. Footprints is a charity run centre that teaches children with Special Education Needs to walk and talk. It provides so much in terms of physiotherapy and speech therapy that the NHS does not have the resources to provide. The care Eve receives from them every week costs the charity over £3000 a year, yet they charge families just £30 a month.
Having never run before, Fiona completed a 10k race in March for Heart Link, and on June 15th I will be taking part in a charity boxing event for Footprints. I would be honoured if you could give anything towards Footprints Conductive Education Centre, and help me on my journey to fight night.
Many Thanks
Ben
