Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

As some of you know we have entered in to the Rotterdam marathon, taking place on Sunday 11th April (in Rotterdam!!)

This will be the first time we would have done a marathon and although not only would it be a great personal achievement for us, we (with Lyn's blessing) would like to take this opportunity to help support the hospice that kindly cared for and supported Mick last year. We appreciate that financially things are a bit tough for everyone right now so any donation you can make will be warmly appreciated and your support will certainly boost our morale during our final few weeks of training! More importantly I’m sure St Elizabeth’s Hospice (Ipswich) will be grateful for any help that they receive.

Why Rotterdam you ask? Well the marathon there is so much shorter! Only kidding! Last April we arrived in Rotterdam just as the marathon was ending and got chatting to an English guy who had just completed the race and he was completely overwhelmed with the sense of achievement and atmosphere of the whole day. A couple bottles of wine later and the two of us had convinced ourselves to come back and do the run in 2010 and all things being well we will!

We are just over half way through our training and things are about to step up in the next couple of weeks. We’re hoping to do complete the race in under 4 hours and want to try and get as close to 3 and half hours as possible!!

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer.

Many thanks

Ben & Lewi
