On 11th October 2023 Ben Healey, his step-dad Paul Healey, a good friend Siobhan Wood and Fiona Healey (Paul's wife and Ben's mum) will begin cycling from Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam to Siem Reap/Angkor Wat Cambodia, a total of 535km over 8 days. This is to raise money for the work of Marie Curie. We will be doing this with 50 others and hope to raise £100,000 for the charity which will pay for 5000 hours of wonderful nursing care for the terminally ill, either at home or in one of the 9 Marie Curie Hospices.
It is not the distance or the elevation that will be the challenge, but the intense heat with temperatures around 35 degreesC.
Ben, Paul, Siobhan and Fiona have paid for the cost of the trip themselves and so every pound raised will go directly to front line nursing care. We are aiming to raise £17000.
