If you have already donated I would like to say a big thank you for supporting me in my fund raising journey to raise money for the Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital. If you have not yet given a donation then here is the story behind my fundraising and a little bit about what your donation will being going towards.

In April 2011 I will be running for the first time in the London Marathon. I will also be undertaking the "Kamon Pressure Test" with the Kamon Martial Arts Fedeartion - two hours of solid pain through non-stop pressups, situps, burpess, stress positions and full contact sparring. Yes, I am ready to put my legs, feet, body and mind to the test and take on a great challenge.

However, this is just a small challenge compared to what many children go through on a regular basis, including my nephew Zak, who had to overcome many challenges when he was only just a few minutes old.

My nephew was born into this world with some of his vital organs on the outside of his body, and it was the amazing and professional care the staff at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) gave to Zak that has enabled him to go on a become a very active young boy. With Zak now 7 years old, you would not have ever guessed the things he has gone through from looking at him, and this is down in-part to the great work carried out by the team at GOSH.

My nephew was not the only one to have been cared for by GOSH. My Brother-in-laws niece, Dakota, was born with glaucoma and was unable to see from birth. GOSH provided not only great doctors and nurses, but the support to the family helping them and guiding them through every step as well as brilliant after care.

Great Ormand Street is a fantastic hospital giving children and their families hope. They have achieved many wonderful miracles, and if it was not for this great hospital, then a lot of children would not be given the care needed to give them a fighting start in life.

So, please donate what ever you can for this great cause - every penny helps, whether it is for new technology, hospital equipment or research.
