The ability to get around is vital in order to live a full life yet thousands of people with sight loss never leave home alone. We empower visually impaired people to do that and rely on the support of the public to fund the guide dog service.

Story

**Update**

I've sustained a back injury which means the swim has been postponed - hopefully for just a few weeks - all your donations still mean a lot to me and Guide Dogs and with your support I'll heal up and be away just a little later than planned.

Thank you!

In 2009 it was two way Windermere...

In 2010 it's the daddy of them all - the English Channel - 21 miles in 16 degrees of briny!
The target is a quick 10-12 hour (depending on conditions) hop across to France - preceded by months of training for hours on end in the ever balmy Dover harbour.

Please show your support and help Guide Dogs for the Blind in their work with the blind and partially sighted by parting with some pennies!

Thanks for both your support and donations.
