The Maclehose is considered one of the toughest land races on the planet.  Made up of the hiking trail that crosses much of the New Territories near the Chinese border, the whole trail,100km long, is named after Crawford Murray Maclehose, the longest serving governor of Hong Kong and himself an enthusiastic hiker.  The event itself, historically conceived as an endurance training exercise for the military, covers many of Hong Kong's highest peaks - over the course of 24 hours we will be covering the height of Everest.

The Berry's team consists of James Owen (Team Leader), Amanda Parker (Co-ordinator), Rufus Beazley and Geordie Willis.  With varied levels of endurance race experience we've now completed 4 months of dedicated training, early starts, missed social events and enforced abstinence (for some).

This is a grueling event that will challenge each of us not only physically but mentally.  However all for a good cause, all monies raised will go to Oxfam.  Since 1986, Oxfam Trailwalker has raised over HK$290 million to support various poverty alleviations and emergency relief projects in Africa and Asia including Hong Kong and China.  However there are still millions living in poverty, and they are in need of our support.

A special thanks to our official sponsors from the wine industry: Frog's Leap, Urlar and Surveyor Thomson.

We're appealing to you to assist us in achieving our fund raising target of HK$70,000.  All donations are tax deductible.  After the event we will look forward to sharing our full damage report.

Thanking you in advance for your support.
