Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Big C has gone mad!! OK so I asked you to sponsor me for the Leeds 10k, then the Great North Run and you were all very generous, thank you, but now I need to ask again!! However I have upped the ante, I'm doing the London Marathon, on April 25th 2010, on behalf of Martin House Hospice for Children and Young People.

If you, like me, have healthy children or even young family members, it is hard to imagine how to cope if they had a life limiting illness! This is a beautiful place for the children and their families to stay, and the support they get is fantastic. However, in order to keep their head above water they need £4m per year, 95% of which comes from public donations.

Martin House have been hit seriously by the recession, and donations in 2009 have dropped by 30% on the previous year, which is devastating for them as they rely on the generosity of the public to fund the fantastic work that goes on there. Don't just take my word for it, please visit http://martinhouse.org.uk  to see for yourself.

This time I'm out on my own, and I promise everyone that I will earn every single penny raised!! I am training really hard, and no matter how much it hurts, I will do it!!! I am aiming for £100 per mile for a total of £2,600!!

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please, please, please dig deep and donate now.

Thank you

Colin.
