Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

As you may or may not be aware, myself and the Gray Bros. Dale & Jay are attempting the Loch Ness Marathon this year. This is the first marathon for Dale and Myself but Jay is already a veteran so at least one of us should have a fairly good chance of finishing.

We need your help to raise money for our chosen charity which is the Multiple System Atrophy Trust.

Multiple system atrophy (MSA) is a degenerative neurological disorder. MSA is associated with the degeneration of nerve cells in specific areas of the brain. This cell degeneration causes problems with movement, balance and other autonomic functions of the body. The cause of MSA is unknown. Diagnosis of MSA can be challenging because there is no test that can definitively make or confirm the diagnosis in a living patient. There is no discovered cure for MSA.

The Multiple System Atrophy Trust was established in 1997 to offer information and support to all people affected by MSA.This invaluable support enables them to provide membership and educational services as well as investing in research.

The Multiple System Atrophy Trust is the only UK charity dedicated to providing specialist support to all those affected by MSA; a life-limiting neurodegenerative brain disease. We provide MSA nurses, a telephone helpline and regional support groups. We also fund research into both a cause and cure.
