We safe and decent homes for families to build new lives, hopes and opportunities

Story

Hi everyone.  Firstly, thank you so much for visiting my fundraising page.  Secondly, it is with both excitement and a certain degree of nervousness that I say - I cannot believe that I'm doing this!!!

On that note, I ask...no request...actually plead for you to please dig deep and sponsor me online.

By sponsoring me, you are helping to break the cycle of poverty for some of the 11 million children that have become orphans as a result of the AIDS/HIV epidemic that is sweeping S. Africa .

Adequate shelter provides so much more than a roof. To free a family from poverty, housing has immediate and direct health benefits and is strongly associated with rising educational and economic attainment.  Most of all, it honours an individual’s innate human dignity—they have a dwelling they will proudly call home.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure.  Habitat for Humanity will receive your money faster and, if you are a taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please, and pretty please sponsor me now for this extremely worthwhile project (for more information please visit  http://www.charitychallenge.com/expedition_details.php?id=2193&trip=694)

Although I won't actually be going until September, which seems really really far away, I have to submit the money a couple of months prior to the trip...it's now May so that means I don't have very long at all!!!!  (cue stress levels getting very high)!!!

Many thanks for your time and kind support.

Kind regards

Binal

About the charity

We believe decent homes are the heartbeat of strong communities and so we also fight for land rights for women, upgrade urban slums and informal settlements, improve access to water and sanitation, and help communities become more resilient in the face of natural disasters.
