Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In October I will be travelling to Fort William in Scotland to take part in the Breast Cancer Care’s Ben Nevis Challenge.
Breast Cancer Care is here for anyone affected by breast cancer. They bring people together, provide information and support, and campaign for improved standards of care. They use understanding of people’s experience of breast cancer and clinical expertise in everything they do. I have very personal reasons for choosing to support Breast Cancer Care. I was diagnosed with the condition over 5 years ago and underwent surgery and treatment. In April last year I was discharged from the Breast Clinic which was a huge hurdle for me and I promised myself I would do some fund raising to support other people who are battling with breast cancer and who have not been as fortunate as I was. I lost my mother to breast cancer over 20 years ago so support for breast cancer suffers is something which I feel very passionate about.
The challenge will involve walking up and down Ben Nevis on Saturday 2 October with 100 other walkers. The Ben Nevis summit stands at an incredible 1,344m (4,406 ft) above sea level and is Britain’s highest mountain. It will take eight hours of walking to complete the challenge. The day will be a true test of endurance which means I have to get fit, so I have a comprehensive training plan to follow. In order to take part in this challenge, I have committed to raise £500 some of which I hope to raise through this web page. I am also planning a 'bag packing' day at Sainsburys in Ashbourne on Saturday 28 August, so if you or your friends have an hour (or two) you could spare me on that day then please email me masonb2004@yahoo.co.uk if I get enough people interested I would like to cover the checkouts from 9 am to 6 pm and hopefully this will go a good way towards my £500 target.Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my page and I hope you feel able to support me.
