Story
I'm not really sure what we think we are doing!
As the title says, 5, unfit, mostly overweight, slightly suicidal but very optimistic blokes from Butlins in Minehead, attempting to climb the 3 highest peaks in the UK over the course of 24 hours.
We tried to think of many easy ways of raising funds for our Charity - The Princess Royal Trust for Carers, and after much discussion decided on possibly the most difficult and dangerous!
However - the challenge is now set, transport and accomodation are confirmed and the dates finalised as the 31st August - 1st September 2010.
Starting on the highest peak in the UK, Ben Nevis, at 4pm on the 31st August, we then climb and descend this, Scarfell Pike in Yorkshire and Snowdon in Wales within 24 hours.
Training has been inconsistent at best with some of us spending 2 weeks in France consuming much cheese and wine, some thinking walking up stairs is sufficient preparation and others undertaking half marathons!
Hopefully we'll make it back alive, but more hopefully we'll smash our £1000 fundraising target and make the effort all worthwile........your support is greatly appreciated.....
Thanks
Rob, Paul, Jon, Chris and Ben
