C2C2010 – The Coast to Coast Challenge has once again ‘Thrown down the gauntlet’ at the feet of our team of cycling fundraisers. The 150mile Blackpool to Hornsea Challenge will be tackled on 26th June 2010 when we set off from the west coast of Lancashire at 4:30am to undertake the grinding trek across the country to finish on the east coast of Yorkshire at tea time. Along the way we will have our fair share of energy bars and a hearty breakfast; not to mention some great camaraderie and the satisfaction of achievement on arrival – mission accomplished.
            This year we have decided to support Cancer Research UK who fund the work of over 4,500 scientists, doctors and nurses across the UK and run specialised institutes dedicated to cancer research. It is a sad fact that almost everyone has in some way been touched by the destructive effect of this disease which can strike anybody at anytime. You don’t get cancer – it gets you.
            All we can hope for on the day is decent weather, a tail wind and YOUR support.
