Story

I was running the 6th Brett Lydd half marathon incorporating the British Masters Athletics Federation and Southern Counties Vets Championships three weeks ago in a bitterly cold morning done 13.1 miles on Mother's day. I'm must be proud with a new PB in a new time of 1 hr 38 mins and 31 secs finished overall in 149th out of 592 runners and finished 23rd for ladies. I won the bronze medal for the British Masters and a silver in the Southern Counties Vets Championships. Tomorrow (Good Friday) I am running again to do the Folkestone 10 miles to support this charity. 28th March 2013

Updated 5th March 2013

Hello, Haven't been on here lately. Well I'm back again doing the charity for Clare's disease of Wegners Vasculitis that's am doing the 6th Brett Lydd half marathon this Sunday will be my second racing in half marathon. I am hoping to run under 1 hr 43 mins which is my first half marathon last year in Hastings was a tough one! So the courses will be flat and fast and would recommend a good race. If you could be grateful to make small donations to the charity for Vasculitis.

I run the Darent Valley 10k at Eynsford and it's lovely sunny day but very cold, the course are hilly and nice run through the country trail as I'm not recovering from a cold since been on holiday in Cornwall two wks ago. I struggle the first half with a soggy cold in a time of 46:24 and hard work on hilly. I finished in 13th place for ladies, and overall 155th. I done this for you Clare's to go all the way.

Updated on 26th March 2012 @ 23:20h

Just to let you know how I did get on for the very first time doing the 28th Hastings Half Marathon yesterday (Sunday 25th March 2012) morning in a lovely warm sunshine, and I finished in 688th in a time of 1 hr 43:17 seconds despite so many peoples enter the races was so unbelievably. I found out the results yesterday and there were 3,602 runners who competed the races was amazing all the crowned cheering and music bands was brilliant.

I do find the course so hard for the 1st time doing the half marathon as I did really well from the start to 3 miles and settle down a bit as so many hills especially 9 miles and having trouble with calf tightening up, then the last 3 miles keep up and at the final stage during the last 2 miles as I find this hard and I try my best to keep going til the finishing line.

I hardly walk afterward as the calf was badly and manage to walk and jog down before heading home for ice bath!!! I really enjoyed the atmosphere and speculators cheering with music lives, listen to Radio 2 while on the run marathon. Candy done this all the way at 13.1 miles for you Clare's as you must be proud. I know you can't run that distance Clare's and you be happy what I achieved for you.

Candy run the Ashford and District 10k yesterday for Vasculitis UK charity in a memory of Clare Grossman's of former ex Ashford AC. Well I did finished the course all the way to support for Clare's despite am disappointed with a slow time as my feeling wasn't well after the 8KM. I was really confused when arrived at Sandyacres Sports & social club that's the race start @ 10am which I do not know the time been changed thought the race is 11am. I was really lucky left the house by 9am and leave the car at Eureka Park to walk 10 mins to Sandyacres. As I realised everyone going and told the Ladies where the races start and what times. Ladies said the "the race start @ 10am" am really cross, no time to jog for warm up nor drill so rush really quickly for 10 mins to start the race and and made it on time from the start just 5mins to begin. I finished in 147th in a time of 46:10. Now, the next step is the 28th Hastings half marathon doing this for the 1st time for 13.1 miles. I hope to run all the way til the finishing line without stopping to support for Clare's charity.

I am running for the Hastings half marathon 13.1 miles to raise money for Vasculitis UK in the memory of Clare Grossman, a former Ashford AC sadly passed away in the New Year Eve 2 years ago fighting disease of WegnersVasculitis. Clare was a great loss of many friends who know from Ashford AC and their family died at the age of 39. She such a funny person and make everyone laugh even travelling on a coach trip to the league match and staying overnight at the travelodge. We sadly missed Clare so much of fun without her in memory and I'm doing it for the charity to do the 13.1 miles for the first time to compete this year to raise fund much as we can to support the Vasculitis UK.

Candy is running the 28th Hastings Half Marathon on Sunday 25th March 2012 @ 10.30am start and also running the Ashford District 10K on Sunday 18th March 2012 due to previous date cancelled in February because the snow.
