Story
My first daughter was born 3 weeks early. Straight after her birth it was obvious something was wrong. After being placed on a ventilator and having test after test it was discovered that she had septicaemia (blood poisoning) caused by Group B Strep, an infection that can easily be picked up and normally prevented by IV anti-biotics in labour.
Sadly, it was too late for my little girl and she fell asleep after 6 days due to complete organ failure.
Group B Strep testing is not available on the NHS and unfortunately lots of women are unaware of this horrible infection.
I started running a couple of months ago so this race will be a challenge for me.
Please donate even the smallest amount so that more people learn about Group B Strep.
We miss our little girl so very much and I want to keep her memory alive by running for her.
Thank you xx
Carla
