Most of you know me as 'Crazy Carole' and taking part in the Hever Castle Triathlon on the 24th of September 2022 just proves that I really am. You will probably already know my life story but if you can share this with your friends and family, I will be eternally grateful.

Taking part in a Triathlon when I cannot run, certainly have never jogged and whilst I bob about in the sea near to where I live,  I could never swim properly (my dream has always been to front crawl), seems ridiculous, so why am I doing this?

For those who might not know my story.... I have had quite a journey through the years losing close relatives at very young ages (not least my husband Terry who was diagnosed with cancer at 34 when I was six months pregnant and passed when my son was just 12 months old). Other members of my family who have been through cancer include, one of my brothers, a singer and musician, who lost his voice box to cancer just after I had been through my first Breast Cancer but like me, he has beaten it.  My Aunty Cathy also died in her 30's leaving two very young children and a hearthbroken wider family. We recently lost my Aunty Beryl who, when I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 2005 mentored me and instilled in me a "Be Positive" attitude, do not let it get to you...hang in there...Enjoy Life...Be Happy. Aunty Beryl had various cancers throughout her life and beat them all until finally she passed at the age of 82 and a huge hole has been left in our family lives, we miss her so much.

After rounds of chemotherapy in 2005 having beat it, I was devasted to learn in 2015 that I had breast cancer in my other breast and would have to start the whole treatment path again. I couldn't have got through it without the love and support of my amazing family and friends.

So, I am doing this in honour of The Team Phoenix Foundation, but I am also doing it on behalf of my family and friends, my consultants and their teams for all of their positivity that carried me through.

Training commenced 12 weeks ago and I cannot believe that we have 4 weeks to go and I am still in, I honestly didn't think I would be able to keep up with the training.

I run....well not run, I call it a Tigger-bounce-jog. I ride VERY slowly uphill, Hever has big hills :-(  but I do love whizzing downhill (you know how I drive!). I can now front crawl swim - slow, but steady.

Thanks to all of my coaches who have persevered with me to get me to where I am now. As a Team, it is a requirement that we all finish together and the girls are fantastic support to me.  I am welling up writing this because they have all become such good friends to join in my already lifetime close friends - you know who you are.

I am so overwhelmed by the support that has been given to me, my confidence has soared and I feel like the old Carole in her Citibank days is back - still daft, still scatty, still crazy and full of energy to be able to do voluntary healing with people and animals. I love my voluntary work as an Energy Healer and a Reiki Master,  both of which I formally qualified for after my second breast cancer.

I have babbled on a bit I know,  but here is the serious bit...... I really would love to be able to Sponsor a Team Phoenix member in the 2023 Triathlon. I ask you all to sponsor me so that I can 'Pay It Forward' to Team Phoenix for what they have given me.  Can I please ask you to forward my page on to your friends in order to help someone else gain their confidence back as I have.

If you are there on the day, you will see me coming in as a Team with all of my girlies. I will definitely be singing "Look at the Stars...Look how they Shine for Us"  by the brilliant Band called Coldplay!

I am so grateful to you for reading this and send you my love because it's 'All About Love, Gratitude and Positivity to Feed your Mind,  Body and Soul'....Love you  xxx
