Many thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. This coming September, Jane Czyrko and Caroline Harris are taking part in the Ben Nevis Challenge, with the intention of increasing awareness and raising funds for Alzheimer’s Society’s Gwent Befriending Project. 

Based in Pontypool and covering the areas of Monmouthshire, Torfaen and Blaenau Gwent, the Gwent Befriending Project provides an important support service for both carers and people with dementia.  In addition to providing vital information about the illness, the Gwent Befriending Project aims to reduce the isolation experienced by those with the disease and their carers by providing a “friend” who will support them through the emotional and physical trauma and deprivation associated with the illness. 

Gwent Befriending Project employs both volunteers and employees and a befriender will literally become a person’s friend, offering companionship, trust and support.  All the money you donate through JustGiving will go directly to the Gwent Befriending Project, helping to provide this much needed support for carers and their care recipients and enhancing the available services.
