We pioneer life-saving cancer research to help us beat cancer

Story

But for the Great South Run I would never have known I had cancer. It was only after I signed up for it  that I went to the doctor about my polite little cough. There I discovered the rude truth: I have adenocarcinoma, a lung cancer.
You can find the full story if you go to telegraph.co.uk and search under my name but the gist of it is that I am currently undergoing chemotherapy. In between bouts I am doing what I can to keep healthy and cheerful, assisted by my wonderful crew of supportive, generous family and friends.
Training for the Run has not been as I imagined. Mostly I have been lying in bed, but I won't let that stop me having a go. If anyone wants to sponsor me on behalf of Cancer Research UK, I would be very grateful. More than 80 per cent of the charity's money comes in the form of small sums from individuals. Lets see if we can add to the pile - and if I can make it to the end.
