Story
Anyone who knows me knows I'm not a natural runner (or even a runner) but the blisters, creaky knees and Sunday mornings spent running rather than relaxing are all worth it if I can raise some cash for Cystic Fibrosis, one of the most common life-threatening inherited diseases and one that touches my family with my cousin's son effected.
Cystic Fibrosis is caused by a single faulty gene, there is presently no cure and only half the youngsters suffering can currently expect to live beyond 35 years.
However, the CF Trust is hoping to change this through gene therapy, with a clinical trial currently underway but more money needed to see it through. The initial results look fantastic and it's hoped that it will stop 90% of deaths in people with CF will who currently lose their lives to lung damage.
So please dig deep and support CF to save the lives of so many effected children.
