Story
This year I've decided to do something to help Macmillan cancer support.
It has been a tough year for me so far partly by having lost both my godparents to cancer in a month of each other, and I have had too many other people in my life affected by cancer. I'm sure that everyone reading this has had their lives touched by cancer to.
Now I may not be known for being the most active person ever, which is why this is even more of a challenge!
On 17th October 2010 Stu and I will be taking part in Mud Runner, a run consisting of 6ish arduous cross country miles around the Eastnor Estate using the same tracks that Land Rovers have been tested and developed on.
Mudrunner is over a variety of terrain and conditions from rolling grassland (well a little bit anyway) to mud, wet mud and sticky mud. The course includes hills, waterfilled pits, muddy banks and did I mention mud!
Having not participated in cross country events since high school this is slightly out of my comfort zone but I will rise to the challenge to raise money for Macmillan ( and make Stu do it too!)
£143,273
could fund a Macmillan nurse for 3 years, providing emotional and practical help to people affected by cancer and their families.
£51
could buy a liquidiser for someone who can't eat solid food as a result of their cancer treatment.
£17.50
could pay for one more member of a cancer support group to go on a social event with other support group members.
So come on guys, dig deep, if only to see the pictures of me training which will be a good laugh all round!
