Story
In March I will be off to compete in a 150 mile race across the Atacama Desert in Chile.
The race is run over 6 days and consists of stages ranging from around 18 miles to 50+ on the non stop stage. The temperature will vary from around 35 down to 10 degrees at night. As well as being the driest place on earth the Atacama is a desert at altitude. The lowest we will start at is 1 mile above sea level, we will be climbing alot higher over the week.
In order to complete this race we will have to carry our weeks provisions in a rucksack on our backs: food, sleeping bag and mat, clothes, first aid kit, wash kit, and cooking utensils. We are provided with water at check points and a tent which we will share with 7 other people.
I am competing in this race to raise much needed funds for the animal aid at Huncote. PLEASE donate to help this extremely worthy charity continue its good work.
Thank you Catherine x
