Our incredible team of runners in the London Landmarks Half Marathon will be raising vital funds to help the thousands of seriously ill children that come to GOSH every year.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Cerys has a team of supporters that over the years have been involved in lots of different challenges to raise money for a hospital close to our hearts. Over the last eight years we have raised over £30,000.

Cerys was diagnosed with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS) when I was 20 weeks pregnant, it was a scary diagnosis. We were immediately treated at Great Ormond Street Hospital.

HLHS means Cerys was born with half a working heart. At three days old, she had her first open heart surgery, and then another at seven weeks old. She then went onto have emergency open heart surgery on her third birthday in 2012.

She has changed our lives for the better and touched so many people with her zest for life. Sharon Windebank signed up to this event and after one of her fundraising events I "stupidly" decided to join her! I can honestly say it has been the hardest thing to train for, my body was not made to run 13.1 miles, and for those that know Sharon W, she makes it sound and look so easy!

Our life is busy with GOSH and being under four departments there, we have lots of visits. We thank all the staff that work there that do amazing things from the bottom of our heart.
