The Girl with the Dragon-shaped Blisters
On Sunday 19th September I will be once again demonstrating remarkable fitness and agility at the Great North Run. From time to time I will also be running in it.
I am taking part to raise money for a local hospice that is currently struggling as it had its funding severely cut earlier this year.
I have calculated that for every stride taken by an average runner, I take 2.5. While altitude tends to work in my favour, this means that I expend approximately 374% of the effort required by other runners. Over a half marathon I therefore run the equivalent of approximately one and a half complete marathons. An astonishing conclusion that I am sure you will take into account when sponsoring me. Eddie Izzard is good, but stand back everybody...
Please help me to help the hospice. The easiest way to do this is to look at your credit card limit, then enter that number into the Amount field in this form. And please don't forget GiftAid - it makes a huge difference.
Many thanks for your support - it is greatly appreciated.
