Story
The event...
On July 1st and 2nd 2010 a joint team from National Grid and Accenture will carry out an English three peaks challenge in the Lake District, climbing the region's three highest mountains in order to raise money for the British Red Cross.
The peaks in question are Helvellyn (3,117ft), Scafell (3,162ft) and Scafell Pike (3,209ft) which are the three tallest peaks in England and will test the team's stamina, map reading ability and choice of footwear to the limit.
The usual tourist (i.e. easy) paths will be discarded in favour of more interesting (i.e. harder) routes up each mountain with the dramatic Striding Edge ridge typifying the type of route the trip will involve. In other words this is definitely not one for the faint hearted and will challenge even the experienced climbers in the group.
Please dig deep and reward the team's efforts by making a donation to this worthy cause. Your money really can make a difference and if you are a UK taxpayer you can ensure that Gift Aid is reclaimed, making your donation go even further.
