I will be taking part in the Virgin London Marathon 2010 in aid of the Lennox Children's Cancer Fund.

The Lennox is a national registered charity which supports children suffering with cancer and their families. This support is given through Welfare Grants and Crisis Break Holidays.

The Welfare Grants program offers financial cushion to families when they need it most. Often a parent will have to leave employment to care for their sick child, with a reduced incoming debt and financial pressure can soon build. Lennox has in the past assisted families with household bills, travel costs to and from hospital, and by purchasing equipment needed by the children.

Crisis Break Holidays are also available to suffering children, their siblings and parents at one of four holiday homes owned and maintained by the charity. A week away from the numerous hospital trips and rounds of treatment give the whole family a chance just to be together in a place where cancer is not the main focus of their day. A weeks break is given free of charge and with spending money for the week.
