Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. In 2015 I am taking on the challenge of trekking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, and raising £3800 along the way. To do this I need YOUR help so please take a few minutes out of your day to read about my cause and my challenge.
I'm taking on this challenge for St Cuthbert's Hospice because they have provided much needed care and support to my family throughout my lifetime, and helped me through a very difficult time in 2012 when I lost three family members to cancer in just a few months; my Uncle Mark, my husband's Aunty's Jacqui, and my grandad. My grandad really valued St Cuthbert's and from its opening in 1988 it played a place in his life. After providing excellent home care to my nana during her last months, my grandad became a volunteer for the hospice. For ten years he drove patients between their homes and the hospice so that they could have the care they needed.
In memory of my grandad I am taking on this huge challenge, (the fundraising part been just as big a challenge as the trek itself!) for the journey of a life time, and all to support a cause that meant a great deal to my grandad and does to me.
The Inca Trail trek begins at km82 in the Sacred Valley and ends at the world famous UNESCO site of Machu Picchu. The challenge will include trekking for up to 8 hours a day, over rough terrain, at altitudes of up to 4200m and involving extreme temperatures and climate.
I really need your help to achieve my financial goal, so please spare a moment to make any donation you can spare towards my cause. No amount is too small. I really appreciate your help.
