Batten disease is a group of rare, progressive neurodegenerative, genetic metabolic diseases that occur in children & adults worldwide. The BDFA's Vision is to be the central point of excellence in the UK for supporting affected families funding research into a potential cure.

Story

Battens disease is a genetic life limiting neurodegenerative disease.

Siblings Ollie and Amelia Carroll are 2 of  just 30 children in the UK that suffer from this disease

This heartbreakingly cruel disease will mean that children like Ollie and Amelia will lose the ability to see, walk, play, talk and swallow. They will suffer severe seizures that are difficult to control .  Ultimately children who are born healthy and well will become totally dependent on families - at present there is no cure.

Donating to this cause no matter how small will make such a difference. It will allow vital research to continue to help find a cure and for those children for who the cure will come too late donations provide therapies that are essential in maintaining the best quality of life possible.
