As you may or may not know, my lovely Mum Janet passed away back in 2007 after a two and a half year battle with Mesothelioma, a rare form of cancer - http://www.cancerresearchuk.org/about-cancer/type/mesothelioma/

Nearly 10 years on, and having thought about her every day since, I've decided it was about time I started to raise some money in her memory, and hopefully help Mesothelioma UK to improve the survival rate of this nasty disease.

I may have bitten off more than I can chew, but I've decided to take part in one of the toughest triathlons in the UK (even described by many as one of the toughest in the world!) Involving approx. a 1.6km swim in Ullswater Lake, a hilly 60km cycle (involving a section known as "the struggle!"), and a 14.5km run up and down Helvellyn (Englands 3rd highest peak) I'm starting to wonder who the hell I think I am!
