At 13 years of age, Chloe suddenly found a large lump on her chest and another on her neck. Chloe and her parents were told that these were tumours and needed to be treated quickly. Chloe had to have many tests, a biopsy and scans.  Chloe was formally diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma in February 2013.

Chloe has been incredibly brave and patient throughout the whole process, she has coped with the full impact this experience has had on her; from missing being able to hang out with her friends, school (yes she did miss it after a while), losing her hair, painful procedures and some tough times with her medication regime.

Chloe is really thankful for all the support she received from the medical professionals involved, from every service, Gloucester hospital, Bristol children’s  hospital, her local GP and all the supportive information on the internet and elsewhere from charities such as the Teenage Children’s Trust.

After 6 months, recent scans have shown the treatment has been successful. Everyone is incredibly proud of Chloe and relieved she can now get on with her life and live it to the full!

Although there have been some really difficult and challenging times, Chloe has managed to keep smiling, positive and stay hopeful most of time.

What is really important to Chloe now, is to inspire other teenagers and children to try and be hopeful and positive too.
