Story

I will be taking part in a white collar charity  boxing match on the 24th March 2024 to raise money for the Royal Surrey Charity all money raised will go to the TYAC unit in memory of Tash.

For anyone who hasn’t heard of the TYAC unit this is a very specific unit at the Royal Surrey who support people aged 16-30 who receive a cancer diagnosis. They not only provide chemotherapy but also holistic wellbeing support including counselling and coaching, financial advice, complimentary therapies and also pay for ‘bucket list’ experiences for those patients with incurable diagnosis giving families the chance to make everlasting memories in the most difficult of times.

I met Karen when I was working at BCA a few years ago and had the privilege to get to know such a wonderful woman. While working with Karen although I never got the opportunity to meet her daughter Tash I felt like I knew her from the stories Karen would tell me. Tasha lived life to the fullest and achieved more in her 29 years than most people do in twice the time. The TYAC unit provided care and support for Tash and her family. Speaking to Karen I know that Tasha had expressed wishes that all money raised go towards the TYAC unit Karen and her family have done incredible work to raise money, and this is what has inspired me all money donated to the TYAC unit will be used to provide fun days out and experiences for other families who are currently being affected by a cancer diagnosis.
