Story
Doctors of the World UK (part of Médecins du Monde) gives medical care to vulnerable people in over 70 countries worldwide, including the UK. The charity depends on the support of volunteers to provide medical care for people affected by natural disasters, injured civilians in countries where there is conflict, and areas of extreme poverty.
Donating £2.80 will buy a rapid HIV test; £16 will help to care for 16 rape victims in North Kivu (DRC); £33 will fund 26 medical consultations in Kinshata; £145 will pay for a nurse for one month in Niger.
To add to the challenge, I'll be cycling on a tandem with Helen Dace, who is raising money for the Alzheimer's Society.
I hope that you can help me in supporting this great cause, which channels its funds to help people, rather than spending money on promoting the work it does.
