FOR YOU KEV
Fundraising for Motor Neurone Disease Association
CHRIS KERRIGAN WALKS THE BACKWARDS (For the benefit of Motor Neurone Disease – MND Association) A very good friend of mine Kevin Seamons sadly lost his courageous battle in February against the degenerative Motor Neurone Disease. If you are not aware of this dreadful disease imagine a healthy and alert mind trapped inside a body that can’t move but can still think and feel. That’s the devastating reality of Motor Neurone Disease. The support and help needed to achieve the highest quality of life possible for every sufferer is costly both in human and practical terms. The varying strains of this disease have a big impact on family and friends. The MNDA will fund and promote research to bring about an end to MND but until then it will do all it can to help support the families and carers. From first hand knowledge of Kevin’s plight, I know that if it wasn’t for Sue, Georgie, Alex, his family and friends the last months/weeks/days of his life would have been impossible. A contribution to MDNA of this little known disease would not only benefit the sufferer but also relieve the burden on their dependants and of course help towards research. Thanks for your time. NOW THEN THE IDEA IS THIS. On Sunday April 25th 2010, London Marathon Day, I will be starting my walk from Pall Mall to Greenwich at 7.30am with the hope of bursting the finishing tape outside the of Feathers, Park Vista, Greenwich in time for the “Thursty Hour" at circa 4.30/5.00pm still on Sunday I hope. ps Last mile to be completed backwards!!!! Prior to that I will be attempting to do a Thursty Hour BACKWARDS i.e. drinking BACKWARDS, Walking backwards and doing most things BACKWARDS for two hours. No change there then. Could be interesting. Also, in the on Wednesday 24th March, I will be Jeremy Paxman for one round of 15 questions BACKWARDS i.e. I say the answers and the teams get the questions. Finally, although the theme is “BACKWARDS”, let’s look forward to a better life for those who are less fortunate than us. FOR YOU KEV
